My mother and I saw "IT", today.  We both have very different opinions about the film.

The film was considered "Chapter One".  It covered the whole backstory, when they were kids.  It ended as soon as Pennywise went away for 27-years.

My mother didn't like that.  She was under the impression that the film was going to cover EVERYTHING.

But I LOVED the new "IT" film.  I thought it was an amazing remake.  Which is VERY RARE that a remake is good.

And like I tried to explain to my mother...

The original "IT" film was a "Made for T.V." film.  It was broken up into multiple parts, over a series of a few nights.  Years later, it was finally put onto a VHS tape.  But even the DVD is double sided.  You put it in, watch half of the film, flip the disc over, and watch the other half of the film.  That's just the way it is.

And I honestly don't mind it being broken up.  I'm excited for "Chapter Two".  Which is going to cover Pennywise terrorizing them as adults.

So my mother didn't like it being broken in half.  And she thought the original was better.  And I didn't mind it being broken in half.  And I thought the remake was amazing.

I personally thought the acting was better.  The music was better.  The camera was higher quality.  The special effects were better.  And it didn't feel like it was "rushing" to fit the childhood AND adulthood all into one film.
